Lighter Lasagna Soup

Soup season is in full swing and this lightened up version is sure to grace your table many times after giving it a shot. 

 

INGREDIENTS

½ lb ground turkey

½ lb italian sausage

1 onion

1 green bell pepper

6 cloves garlic

1, 15 oz can no salt added tomato sauce

1, 15 oz can no salt added diced tomatoes

1 pinch red pepper flakes

1 Tbsp. Italian Seasoning

1 c. Fresh basil, chopped

6 cups unsalted bone broth

6 ounces pasta

1 Tbsp. Italian Seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

Optional: shredded mozzarella cheese and croutons 

 

Directions

  1. Brown the turkey and sausage
  2. Dice onion and bell pepper and add it to the pot
  3. Mince garlic and add it to the pot
  4. Add tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, pepper flakes, italian seasoning, basil, and bone broth and simmer for 20 minutes
  5. Add in pasta and salt and pepper to taste
  6. Serve with mozzarella and croutons as desired (not calculated in nutrition analysis)
