Tips for Virtual Learning Space at Home

Author Your Holiday Inspiration Guru | August 20, 2020

Create a calm, distraction-free learning environment for your child to prepare them for the upcoming school year. A positive workplace can help them focus on their academic success. Whether your student is starting school virtually or just needs a better place to work on homework after school, we're here to help you provide them with the tools and supplies they’ll need to thrive.

Not sure where to start? See our tips for creating the perfect learning space!

  • Find the right location

You don't need a ton of extra room around the house to make a great virtual learning space for your kids. If you don't have a designated office area, your kitchen or dining room table will serve as the perfect school desk. Be sure to keep the TVs off and limit distractions until they've completed their school work.

  • Get school supplies

Find everything your child may need in the back to school section at your local United Supermarkets! We have a great selection of school supplies and other helpful goodies. To stay organized, designate a particular place in the house for their supplies, such as a spare shelf or cabinet, to hold all of their school day essentials.

  • Switch it up!

Reenergize their growing minds with a little change of scenery throughout the day. Try starting their mornings in one workspace, and finishing the afternoon in another to break up the day. Your options will depend on the available locations in your home, so be creative when thinking of potential study spots. Head out to the back patio or just move to a different place at the table for a good change.

  • Be patient

Remember that this is a big change for everyone. Parents, teachers, and students are all still adjusting to these changes, so don't feel bad if not everything is perfect. We’re all doing the best we can, so do your best to stay patient and positive.
