Champagne Cocktail

Makes 1 drink

Author note: Chill the serving glasses before mixing.

Ingredients

1 to 2 sugar cubes

5 drops of Angostura bitters

1 ounce cognac, chilled

3 1/2 ounces champagne, chilled

orange slice

Instructions

Place the sugar cubes into a glass. Add bitters and the cognac. Let sit for 5 minutes to dissolve the sugar.

Stir and top with champagne. Garnish with an orange slice and a few small pieces of crushed ice. Serve immediately.
